About Us
The current building was opened in 1994.  The original building on Giants Head Road was deemed unsuitable for the growing community as it was just a large single room. Funding was provided by Kinsmen, Lions, the Vancouver Foundation and the Summerland and District Credit Union. The sale of the old building helped as well.

The Summerland Youth Centre Association is a not-for-profit organization managed by a group of dedicated community volunteers. The Executive Committee requires 2 members the Kinsmen club and a representative from the District of Summerland Parks and Recreation Department. Other executive members are from the groups that use our facility such as Scouts, Guides and Boys and Girl's Club and the public..   Paid staff is a part-time custodian (who really works full-time at it)and a part-time booking agent.

We are proud that we offer a clean safe affordable venue available to the community at large. We are also thankful that our users respect the building and its contents, allowing us to fulfill our mandate.

The District of Summerland provides an annual grant-in-aid.
